Setting up of 10,000 MW of Decentralized Ground/ Stilt Mounted Grid-Connected Solar Power Plants

Objective

Solar energy-based power plants (SEPP) of capacity 500 kW to 2 MW will be setup by individual farmers/ group of farmers/ cooperatives/ panchayats/ Farmer Producer Organisations (FPO)/ Water User associations (WUA) on barren or uncultivable agriculture land.

Eligibility

• Individual farmers, group of farmers, cooperatives, panchayats, FPO, WUA
• Land should be within 5 km from the nearest electricity sub-station

Financial Support

• Power purchased by DISCOMs at FiT determined by SERC
• PPA duration: 25 years from COD
• PBI: 40 paisa/unit or Rs. 6.6 lakh/MW/year (whichever lower) for 5 years

Key Features

• Farmers can install projects on their land or lease land to developers
• DISCOMs notify sub-station wise surplus capacity
• Agriculture land permitted with raised structure solar installation
